Switching from keppra to epilim, has anyone else had a seizure & if so did they go back on keppra or wait for it to settle?

I have been following the 4 month change over from keppra to epilim because I had a seizure Jan 2020. I took the last keppra on friday 29th Jan 21 and had a seizure on Sunday 31st Jan. Neuro have increased my epilim to 500mg twice a day but I am still getting absences which I havent had for years since starting medication. I am wondering if this is likely to pass or if I need to ask for the keppra back so wondered what other peoples experiences were?

Hi Angie

It must be a shock to start to get absences again after such a long time and I hope this recent increase of Epilim (sodium valproate) helps to settle these.

How people respond to epilepsy medicines can be very individual but it can be really helpful to share support and information. We have some website information about epilepsy medicines that you may find useful: epilepsy.org.uk/info/treatm...

I hope you hear from others on this platform. You might be interested to know we have other online services as well.

Hi Angie, I hope things settled for you. My husband is just in the middle of switching from Keppra to Epilim and we are hopeful this works.
