Hi I'm on lacosamide but only 100mg once a day but my head has now started to feel really shaky I have absence seizures but have had a cluster of them whilst at work so they called ambulance I then had another one in hospital where all my limbs went limp and I lost consciousness for a very short while this is when they upped my medication to 100mg since home its now been 8 weeks & I've had a couple of absence fits and a grand mal fit which I've never had before my epilepsy nurse has said up lacosamide but I'm scared of them increasing anymore 🙄 my fits are caused by a small Dnet brain tumour that hasn't grown, any advice grateful for 😁

Dear Dugstar

Thank you for your post.

It can be a difficult time finding the right epilepsy medicine. Rather than not increasing your medicine, it would be best to talk to your epilepsy nurse again about your concerns.

For some people with epilepsy, the first epilepsy medicine they try will stop their seizures. But some people need to try different ones to find the one that works for them.

If your seizures get any worse when you increase your medicine, again you would talk to your epilepsy nurse. If needed, they may change you to a different epilepsy medicine.
