I'm new in UK, living near Oxford. For my 26years old son I am looking for medical assistant for epilepsy in and around Oxford.

Is there someone he can go to?

Thanks for your help

Claudia

Claudia,

Are you looking for medical assistance or for a neurologist for your son.

Take care.

Dear Richard,

maybe my thoughts were lost in translation.

I am looking for a neurologist or specialist of epilepsy to whom my son can go for control/maybe new form of therapy or medication during his 6 month stay in UK.

Thanks

Claudia

Claudia,

Thank you for that.

The best specialist hospital in the whole of the U.K. is the National hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery London WC1.

Here are the créme de le créme of neurologists specialising in every neurological including obviously of course epilepsy.

I have attended this hospital to see my neurologist for many years.

Ask your sons GP to refer your sons case to this hospital.

I hope that they can get your son better as soon as possible.

Should you have anymore questions please do not hesitate to DM me.

Kind regards

Richard

Outside London, Oxford is an excellent place to be. The neurology department at the John Radcliffe Hospital has a specialist epilepsy clinic with doctors who have not only knowledge but an understanding of the condition. Your GP will probably refer you to the JR as a mature of course. I have been going to the JR for 35 years and have no complaints or worries. I hope your move to Oxford goes well.

Thanks for your email. JR answered to my question of appointment, they do no private work?

Can you advise details of the doctor you go to?

Kind regards

Claudia

Dr Jane Adcock at the John Radcliffe hospital is a life saver. I travel over two hours to see her as she is amazing with me.

I also go to Jane Adcock. She is the best neurologist I have seen. With a kind understanding of the difficulties we live with she is supportive and is willing to see you if there is a significant issue that needs checking before your regular appointment. My GP sent me to the JR but I found her name on the national hospital list. He was happy to send my details to her. Wonderful to have a woman in charge of my case. I too would travel however long I needed to.
