All I keep reading is women been advised to have a hysterectomy to cure their Endo. Who has had a full hyst, ovaries too and been fine? I have had a hyst but kept ovaries and still suffering. Just wondered because its a tough thing to go through. Is it a full cure?

Who has had a full Hysterectomy due to Endo?
Hi Lizzie
I had my total abdominal hysterectomy and ovaries removed on the 30 th Jan. The operation was my decision as I had been suffering for 17 years and had exhausted all possible treatments. Since having the operation I have not suffered from any endometriosis pain at all. I took paracetamol and ibruprofen for a few days after the op mand that has been it. Considering I was living on codeine before the op. For me it was the best decision I could have made.

I am 28 and having tried all suitable options and knowing that my lungs and bowel are involved I will probably go for the total hysterectomy, I know several people who say its the best thing they ever did. Without children I still think this is a good idea as I'm in so much pain I can't go on like this and will have to adopt etc. good luck x
Hi there,
I had a TAH BSO 9 months ago, I had stage 4 Endo with a frozen pelvis. Initially I felt amazing. It was such a great feeling to start living again, went on holiday and life was great. In October I started getting symptons again, today they are worse than ever. Some days I can barely walk due to pelvic pain, it's very uncomfortable to sit which I think s due to Endo on my bowel. The fatigue is horrendous. My Consultant was insistent that I started immediately on a combined HRT, (42 at time of op), however as I've gained more knowledge I doubt that this was the right decision. I have my first appointment in Monday at a Specialist Centre. I don't regret the op, I had a taste of how great life can be which makes me more determined to get it back once again...and for keeps! Xx
