I'm glad I questioned my first gynae decision cause he was saying i was imagining pain when he didnt remove most of the endo i had...the second gynae i went found out the first ones mistakes!

So my point is if you think something is not looking ok, go for it and question decisions! sometimes some doctors think they are experts but in fact they can do more harm than good! x

Thanks ladies, well, I did send the letter to the Senior Consultant, and boy am I glad I did!!

He has over-ridden the decision of the Junior Consultant I saw, who wants to send me to Orthopaedics (!!?)for my chronic, constant, lower back period pain, and go back to see her in 4 months! Whom also told me that I can't possibly have period type pain if I am not menstruating!

I sent a very polite letter, not complaining or confrontational, querying a few things that the Junior Consultant told me, it has taken some time, but have now had a reply confirming, among other things, that he agrees with me!! That yes, "Endometriosis (I am as yet undiagnosed) usually causes cyclical pain, sometimes the pain can exist at other times through a woman's menstrual month".

He has now offered me, and placed me on the waiting list for Diagnostic Laparoscopy. Which, as we all know, is the ONLY way to find out for sure if there is indeed Endometriosis.

I do feel the odds are stacked against me, as through research I have discovered that if you have a Mother or Sister with Endo, you are 7 times more likely to have it yourself (my mum does, and despite Hysterectomy 20 years ago, still suffers daily with pain from Adhesions, and that women with a tilted (retroverted) uterus, which I was told I had last week after Ultrasound, can be prone to Endo.

Well, he has given me the chance to find out, and not be fobbed off with a load of codswallop from the Junior Consultant, and suffer, like so many of us, with daily, excruciating, debilitating pain for several more months.

Fingers crossed for a date soon So very grateful for this site and all you lovely ladies xxx
