Hi, we are not sure, I think it depends on the extent of the endometriosis, I have tried it as no other choice due to difficult menopause symptoms and no medication, but I dont take it every day and stick to soya milk, if anyone has had worsening symptoms due to soya it would be interesting to know xx

Was always advised to avoid it as it increase oestrogen which can made endo worse, you can use nut milk if you want to avoid dairy,

As per the endo diet, soya should be avoided due to the estrogen content that feeds endo. If you can avoid it, its probably best!

Soya aggregates my pain, soya meat, soya drinks, I notice soya is an ingredient in many foods and seasoning, I read an article via cure endometriosis.com about the ills of the soya industry which is huge. That's a good site for endo related topics.. She has a diet book too!

you can drink rice milk to although i dont like it! , i hate the endo diet and i really dont want to do it, i feel like i will be like a rabbit with all the veg : (

I thought that but Ive just made some small changes to my diet which have really had a massive effect on how im feeling -

cutting out red meat

cutting out wheat - having wheat free - you need to shop around and try different things until you find what you like, ive found that warburtons wheat / gluten free and genius breads the nicest, rice cakes, ryvitas etc, theres loads of free from cakes biscuits etc even chocolate in holland and barrett :)

Waitrose have the best selection definately and its no more expensive than anywhere else.

I have feta and goats cheese instead of normal, natural yogurt, yeo valley yogurts

almond or hazelnut milk

personally an hour after drinking soya milk i become bloated and my pain increases, so i done some research on the internet and apparently soya mimics estrogen and therefore this aggravates endo, i have now started to drink almond milk, which is really creamy and has no negative effects on my body

Thank you all of you for your answers. My endo, thanks God, isn't much extended. I'm 47 and take the pill without interruption, so I'm in a sort of menopause. I've found lots of sites that discourage the use of soya because of its content of phytotestrogens. Maybe the right thing to do is to eat low portion of soya, not everyday. Diet alone can't solve all our problems, but don't let food become another problem: eating must always be a pleasure. I've been treated by an acupuncturer that used a psycological approach and taught me a technique of self-recovery. Is there anybody who made the same experience?
