Following my previous post I went to gp as I noticed a lump in my stomach. With my severe endo I was sent to a&e, then admitted onto a ward. This was last Thursday and I'm still here. Unfortunately my endo specialist is away on holiday and noone seems to know when she is back. I had a scan and the lump is a regular ovarian cyst has appeared and squished onto the endometrioma. Very painful. I've had a few awful gyno doctors so far very unhelpful. But nurses been lovely this was first couple days.
I finally got a doctor who is decent has knowledge of endo but not a specialist. He wants to keep on top of pain relief and make sure I'm comfortable as possible. He said he would do an emergency op but he would not be able to do much other than the cysts and best for me to wait for my planned operation with specialist and colorectal which I agree. Just looking at getting me more stable finding right meds that suit me keeping up fluids etc for now.
The nurses however are no longer nice. Not all of them but a select few. They say things like are you better yet . No obviously not. I cried so bad yesterday because I was in pain and should have my pain relief every 4 hours I didn't get it but apparently I should be buzzing and asking they shouldn't remember even though the consultant told them I have to have it on the dot. Then this morning I got told I had antsick at 6am.when it was at 4am and denied my medicine even though I was vomiting in pain. Because of this I threw up the medication for pain and hormones.
I feel so down. I get people don't understand the condition but I don't want to feel bad or not taken seriously by the people who are responsible for my pain relief.
I really can't wait to go home.

Hello sorry to hear you are in hospital, it’s rubbish 🤮hope you get home soon.
I have had many a visit to A&E then been kept in, for gynaecologists to not know anything about me or what they can do for me. I was often told I need to “manage my illness”, easier said than done. I no longer go to the hospital anymore and use strong painkillers instead. I use to go round in circles taking morphine via IV then sent home.
I honestly think the nurses don’t know what to do with us x
I really feel for you and being in hospital for any length of time can be very lonely. These nurses will make you feel like you have no right to ask for pain meds etc. But just remember they have no idea of this pain, don't suffer keep pressing the bell. Also ask to speak to the ward manager if you continually get treated like this and say you will complain to PALS once you get out. I suffer from endo and have done for years so can sympathise with the pain. But my elderly Mother has been in hospital for a month recently and was expected to ring for pain meds when she cant even remember her own birthday. You need to keep on top of the pain not let it spiral. Maybe a family member could complain for you?
Hi hun so sorry to hear about your treatment. It’s awful when you feel like this but try and focus on being well. The sympathetic and helpful days are long gone in the hospitals. They are all to stretched .. don’t enjoy there jobs.. are not paid well and have mountains of paperwork to fill in. On some wards you are struggling to get what you need on time on some occasions the staff are stressed. But I actually think it’s more to do with the system. I have been on the gyne wards a few times and well my last experience.. they… ignored me .. when I had a blood clot .. I could barely walk after a emergency c section.. getting sent home breathless.. back in and separated from my 3 day old baby.. put in gyne instead of back in maternity with the baby .. then after I stopped responding to an emergency call intensive care.. so just ring the buzzer hun if that’s what they have insisted and don’t worry about doing it either!
