Hi, hope you're all well/looking after yourselves.
I'm looking for some serious advice because I am really baffled at this point. I want to go private because I am sooo fed up of the NHS. I have Stage 4 endometriosis, I'm looking at a Excision of endometriosis, adhesiolysis, rectal shaving, damaged tube removal and ovarian cystectomy. I was booked in to St Mary's in May but unfortunately the consultant passed away.
So I decided to look closer to home (Liverpool) because the consultant I had booked in with was really the only one at St Mary's worth the money for travel and consultation (I was also recommended to said consultant by a fellow sufferer). I found that my consultant is the only consultant in Liverpool (NHS SPIRE AND BUPA).
Then reading through I'm finding that I should've been referred to a BSGE? Which I hadn't been. I have contacted my nearest BSGE (Wirral lol, I Can't believe it). My question is this, do I have any options when it comes to funding the surgery? Can this be done on the NHS? Just "endometriosis" is on my health summary, have I been diagnosed? Could I still get private healthcare if I need to?
Also, side note. I have just moved house and cannot bring myself to register with an NHS GP not sure whether to just go private for now? Is it gonna be crazy expensive?
Thanks in advance.
