Is there any ladies out there who have had a positive experience with the zoladex injection without HRT? I can’t take HRT due to medical conditions so I’m going on the zoladex but worried about side effects but hopefully will give me relief from such awful symptoms I have now with the endo & suspected adenomyosis.

Zoladex & NO HRT
Hi
I’ve been on zoladex for 6 years without HRT (I’ve tried different brands of HRT and struggle to tolerate any of them as they bring back my endometriosis symptoms plus migraines)
I can honestly say Zoladex has been the best decision I ever made. It completely works for me and I’ve had my life back since going on it. I get hot flushes, but I found taking evening primrose and sage tablets helps with that. My problem is now that after 6 years it has started to affect my bones and my consultant took me off it 2 months ago, but after a return of symptoms I’ve been put back on it for another 4 months whilst I wait to see yet another new consultant and see if I can go on the list for hysterectomy. (I’ve had 8 consultants in 6 years as every time I go for my next appointment I find the previous one has left and the new one has a different idea for treatment….hysterectomy was first offered 5 years ago but then that consultant left and his replacement preferred me to stay on zoladex as I was “too young” for hysterectomy!)
I couldn’t tolerate any other drug I’ve tried for endometriosis, I know this doesn’t work for everyone but it’s been great for me! I hope it works for you too, as the constant awful pain and exhaustion of endometriosis is just dreadful x
Hi!I have been on zoladex for nearly 9 months now. I was told its licensed for 6months and would be reviewed at that point for hysterectomy.
I chose not to have Tibolone because the only info I managed to get was my own via Google and consistently reading about the risks of breast cancer were enough to choose going zoladex only.
It has been a miracle drug for me. My endo and adeno pain reduced to nearly nothing, it also helped reduce my Fibromyalgia pain also.
I have suffered with dryness, serious lack of libido and change in mood for a week or so when it is due. Other than that for the last 9 months I have had a life given back to me!
I am now due a total hysterectomy in 2 weeks time.
They license it for 6 months because it is essentially knocking out your oestrogen and can cause your bone density to lessen over time. Many people are on it for over the 6 months though but are kept an eye on. Mine was always just an interim to see if it worked, how well it works and so to see if a hysterectomy would be the right choice of treatment.
I will be going onto hrt after hysterectomy but I am also making sure I have the best diet and lifestyle possible too to make sure I am as strong and healthy as possible. Good luck!
my experience was horrendous!
But I’m trying it again now with hrt to see how I get on as I need to know how I’d be after a hysterectomy with ovaries removed. Ie my mood and whether it takes away pain.
A bad reaction is reversible but not the op lol.
If you need any further info please feel free to message me. Good luck x
I had this for 6 months without hrt as hrt brings back the pain. While on this all the pain went away. However awful menopause symptoms which I've still got 6 weeks off of it!!!!! I'm now going to have a hysterectomy
