mri with dye pelvic tomorrow…

hi all I have had endo for many years, had laparoscopic and laser, the last time was about 8 years ago when they noticed some on my urethra. Fast forward to now, I have bladder retention, and now I am in a lot of lower back pain and hip pain, I’m wondering if anyone else has this and had an mri to look for endo?

Thanks so much, I’m feeling a bit anxious about tomorrow, any advice appreciated.

Hi, I had the CT scan with the dye, it doesn't hurt, it's just a warm sensation that makes you feel like you've wet yourself but I promise you, you haven't lol it literally lasts 30 seconds if that, you will be absolutely fine :) x

i had mri with dye for endo diagnosis and its fine. They put the dye in the back of my hand so its water/dye that just trickles through- tiny sensation. Mri is loud and clunky but youll have headset on. Just see it as a time to close eyes and relax for 20-30mins. No pain youll be fine

hi, how long were you told to fast for prior to your mri? Just I’ve only been told two hours but I’ve read everywhere it’s usually 4 hours so I’m worried should I fast for 4 hours to be safe?

Many thanks

I didnt fast with mine- maybe its different with your health condition but for endometriosis i didnt have to.

mine is for endometriosis I have a long history of it with multiple surgeries. I just read everywhere that it’s usually a 4 hour fast so that’s interesting that you didn’t need to however I am having an abdominal scan at the same time so that could be why. Thanks I’m going to fast for 4 hours to be on the safe side

hi all mri was fine, long but ok will await results. Just had to up my pain med to naproxen , I have never known it this bad. Just as an afternote I didn’t have to fast for my mri, they can me buscopan through the vein to relax my bowel.
