Im new here so dont really know what to say or how to do this! But hi!
I am currtnetly on 6th prostap injection, after finally my doctors have listen to me and followed up on something. I have been fighting hard for nearly 6 years now on how i have been feeling just to be brushed off and being ignored.
When i saw a gyno, he bascially was blaming my issues on me being in his words 'fat' and i needed to lose weight and the pain will stop. When i explained to him, i haven't changed weight for a year, not gone up or down - he looked worried. He than put me on prostap.
Im just wondering how everyone is dealing with being on prostap? My poor boyfriend is getting all my mood swings and im taking everything out on him and its not fair anymore on him. I always feel so unhappy, and my mood swings are out of control. I have spoke with a GP and they have said to go speak to someone as im going through alot for a 25 year old.
Sorry to vent on here - but i honestly just feel like i need to speak to someone who understands what im going through but always be honest

prostrap was horrible for me, I had it alongside pill. The migraines were horrendous as were the mood swings and weight gain. I’m now on everol patches and since my last scan endo has significantly reduced.
Hi! Sorry you’re having a rough time xxx The side effects of Prostap can be awful & it’s impossible to tell which ones you’ll get and how bad they will affect you. I’m currently on my fourth monthly Prostap injection. Mood-wise I haven’t been too badly affected, though I’ve been a bit low on patience and snappy at times… My worst problems with Prostap have been hot flushes, sleeplessness, aching bones and occasional migraines, but since I started taking Tibolone/Livial tablets a couple of weeks ago, these symptoms have improved & are much more manageable. This is a huge relief, as stopping my periods has taken away some of the worst pains for me.
Please access some mental health support if you can - it can really help to say everything out loud to someone neutral, who might also have some good tips for helping you cope with the mood swings and with any other pressures in your life. I hope that your boyfriend can continue to be supportive and understanding with you, especially if you keep reminding him that it’s not his fault & you really appreciate him.
Wishing you the best of luck with everything- specially your struggle to get the right treatment xxxxx
