Some hope!

Hello. Coming back to this forum after eight years. I just wanted to share my story to give people hope. I was diagnosed eight years ago after heavy periods and pain and endo cysts shown on ultrasound . I had a laparoscopy which made a big difference to the pain and after 18 months of trying, fell pregnant naturally. Fast forward a few years, I have a beautiful son and barely any symptoms. What can make my endo flare? definitely diet. Sugar and alcohol predominantly. For the most part I don’t notice the endo but in those weeks of relaxing (think Xmas) I notice a huge difference pain wise. Exercise also makes a big difference, even just a walk. I remember coming to this forum so that I could connect with people who understood what I was going through. I just wanted to share my story to know that whilst there can be dark days, there is a lot of hope and things do get better. Remember also that there are many, many positive stories of people with endo which don’t make these forums. Sometimes I felt so lost amongst these posts that I felt I would never feel better. It was at those times that I would take a break from here and refocus. Don’t give up there is lots of help out there.

Hi Georgie

Thank you very much for posting this. It's good to hear that treatment and lifestyle changes can be successful and congratulations on having your baby!

The support from this site is so helpful and I've learnt a huge amount. That said, naturally most of the women posting here will currently be having problems with their treatment and you don't tend to hear many success stories from the other side.

It's good to know there can be light at the end of the tunnel.
