Is pouch of douglas endo stage 4

Hi Endo-battle,

I have recently been diagnosed with stage 4 endo and I have an obliterated pouch of Douglas. However, my bowel is also fused to my uterus so that could be more likely why I had my diagnosis of stage 4.

The POD is a space between the back of the cervix and front of the bowel that is lined with peritoneum (thin membrane lining the abdominal cavity and wrapping around organs). Endo there can be anything from stages 1/2 that is limited to the peritoneal lining to stage 4 which is when endo fibrosis is so extensive that it has filled the whole space and 'obliterated ' it.

Hi. My pouch of Douglas is completely obliterated and I have been diagnosed by laparoscopy and MRI with stage 4 and DIE. Hope that helps.

can I ask others what symptoms they get with obliterated pouch? Mine was described as obliterated and a further mri shows a 2 cm endometriosis nodule in there as well as tethering to sigmoid colon. I don’t really get many symptoms apart from pressure in the bum , which feels worse during a period like I can feel a golf ball 🤦‍♀️ But no real pain 🤷‍♀️
