hi everyone, so after months of harassing the hospital and ringing up today for an update, they’re finally fitting me in for my Laparoscopy next Tuesday!! So happy it’s finally getting done but I’m sooo nervous. Is there anything you’d suggest taking in with me apart from the obvious pyjamas, dressing gown etc.? Also, how long did it take everyone to feel okay to go out? I have a baby shower 4 days later and really don’t wanna have to miss it but not sure if it’s too soon&if i’ll feel up to it. Any advice would be amazing xx
Little side note - is it normal to feel nervous about them not finding anything? I obviously don’t want endometriosis but at the same time I’m terrified that they won’t find anything and I’m back to square 1 with no answers to why I feel the way I do! Did anyone else worry about this?

It’s nerve wracking isn’t it, I’ve been made out to be a lier by doctors for years, just hope we both get some sort of answers! Good luck I hope everything goes well for you too xx
Hey! I had mine last Monday, was a nervous wreck and read wayyyyy too many blogs/articles on recovery and scared myself a bit, when in actual fact it was fine! They were lovely at the hospital and put me at ease, and being put to sleep was the most fun part of it all we had a right laugh 😂
I had mine Monday afternoon and would say by Friday I was feeling good- could walk fine/lift/cough etc without pain. I only had ibruprofen and paracetemol after the op (would recommend avoiding codeine if you can as the constipation is awful- I was having normal bowel movements within 2 days), and I came off all painkillers on day 3. Also had no gas pain!
Would recommend taking a book to read while you wait (more so if you’re getting it on NHS) as there were a few delays on the day, I took some oat bars to eat after which were handy.
Hi Yes! The worst part for me was the week before. I worried they would find nothing and that I would be partially responsible for putting myself through the pain and time out. Well they did find a lot but truthfully there is a reason you are where you are. Even if they don’t find anything you made a big step in the right direction. Take slippers and i took some happy pyjamas for the next day to cheer me up. Good luck x
hey, I am in the same boat. I just read your post that you got diagnosed with endo and though it’s not the best news I am glad you are not in the dark. I have had severe pain since the first time I had my periods. My pain grew worse over the years and now I feel fatigued almost every day. I have my laparoscopy in two weeks and I am so nervous that they might not find anything 😭. I wish they find something so I have an answer to what’s causing my pain
