I’m not even sure I am on the right board, anyway! Told I have ‘Endo’. One major surgery, plus 5 years of 3 monthly consultations, 1 sepsis, promised a second major, major surgery, which kept getting delayed! First within 12 months and then minimum 2 years, and so fourth! Ended up at Christie’s in Manchester to find out I have no hormonal issues! Anyway, gp has now confirmed that my surgery was always going to be delayed, because no one had any intentions of actually doing it! So today signed into my medical records to see that Christie’s has emailed my GP! But what exactly has been said is anyones guess, cuz there doesn’t seem to be a copy of it! Is it common for medical places to use email? Should I be able to access what has been said? Weird!

yes email is main way they communicate now. You can apply for all your medical records to the hospital. It’s called a subject access request.

You can also apply to your GP practice for access to your records. They should have information about this on your website. That means you should be able to see what is in the GP notes including what they have received for the he various hospitals.

I think it’s worth requesting an appointment with your GP to ask them to explain your current situation and any treatment plan.
