Hi, wondering if anyone can help me as I’m a little bit lost and confused with this process of figuring out wether I do have Endometriosis or not. I’ve been on a long journey, with multiple symptoms caused by endi but I have had a scan and nothing showed up, this was more than a year ago. I’m still having symptoms and because nothing showed up on the scan, am I writing in writing off endi as something I may have?
Many thanks,
Any advice would be so appreciated, this has been years of constant horrible period pains, bleeding 80% of the time, not being able to enjoy and it’s got to the point I can’t let this affect me emotionally as much as it as, but I don’t understand wether I write endo as something I don’t have.
My question really is - Has someone had a scan and showed them nothing but they later found out they do have endo through a endometriosis laparoscopy??

Hi, you could have endo as some people have scans that show nothing. The only way to know is through a laparoscopy. If you’re in pain and you think it is endo I’d definitely push for a laparoscopy as that’s the only way you know for sure. Scans can’t really give a definite answer when it comes to endo. Sending you lots of love xx
All my ultrasound scans were normal over the years, blood tests showed inflammation they couldn't explain and autoimmune disease. At my lap they found stage 3 endo, adhesions in my cesarean that fused my bowel to my uterus. Clear scans do not mean no endo! Especially when the scan has been done by an unqualified technician. Scans that are done by trained endo people can be very useful in diagnosis, Lindle has posted some fab advice on this if you do a post search about ultrasound. So it's not the scans fault. It is often the person DOING the scan that has missed signs. But yes all my scans were always normal. Xxx
Hi! I can relate so much and feel like I could have written this post myself, but don’t give up, you know better than anyone what is going on in your body. Over the past year I had numerous ultrasounds and an MRI that all said everything was “normal”. I ended up going privately for an ultrasound with a radiographer rather than a sonograph who was able to detect it. Good luck and don’t give up x
My daughter is going through the same thing we have learned scans and even laps done can sometimes not show endometriosis. She is waiting for an endometriosis specialist that knows what they are looking for and we follow Nancys Nook on face book for info I wish you luck
Mine all come back normal, and as I was only 15 at the time they wrote me off, luckily I had really supportive parents who did not take no for an answer, I had a diagnostic laproscopy and I was found to have severe endometriosis bit it was between my bladder and bowel and they had fused, I was treated for endometriosis with zolodex injections and various laser treatments and I had a hysterectomy at the age of 28.
My point is if you know there is something wrong you know your body better than anyone else! Find yourself an understanding doctor and tell them that you need to see a specialist..
