Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice. I’ve had one ultrasound that showed no signs of endometriosis, but i’ve been told by several OBGYNs that it’s most likely I have it, and I was referred to a clinic in my. local hospital but I have received no contact despite reaching out. I am considering if it would be worth going private to finally receive my diagnosis and treatment because my general life and mental health has been serverly effected by my symptoms. Can people please leave advice or opinions!! thank you for reading :))))

Hi Katie,

I would say yes it would be. I have had numerous scans in various places and the results are very dependent on how skillled the sonographer is. I recently went all the way to London to see a top gynae sonographer. I paid privately and it cost 400 pounds but it was well worth every penny.

The guy who did the scan is a professor in gynae sonography. He did the scan reallly carefully (ultrasound) and he talked me through the whole thing while he was doing it. Then he gave me 30 mins after the scan to talk through all he had found and how bad the disease is , where the endo is grwoing , which areas were worse etc He also advised me as to what a surgeon would need to do and how risky or not an operation might be.

He sent me a 5 page report the next day via e mail and suggested two or three very skilled surgeons I could try. I have had private scans and NHS scans elsewhere but this was by far the most professional experience and the report had way more detail than the other scans I have had.

I only had to wait about 3 weeks to get the appointment. it was well worth the money.
