Hi everyone, hope you are all having a good day.

I'm new to this but need some advice!

I had a laproscopy about 6weeks ago, the pain has been horrendous, didn't get a proper follow up so my stitches became infected and my consultant told me I had stage 3 endo and that it could affect my fertility on a 2minute phone call, before discharging me without any plan other stay on the pill.

I'm struggling with the diagnosis as was told for 6 years that it would be nothing or its just a UTI despite all the symptoms.

I feel validated for finally getting a diagnosis but now I feel completely abandoned by all the medical professionals.

Has anyone got any tips for coming to terms /coping with the diagnosis or general tips for managing the pain?

Any help would be massively appreciated and I hope you all find help and support.

Thank you!

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I would absolutely make a complaint, I have been open to my surgeon for over 7 years. They’re supposed to listen to you and guide your care. Have you been given the option of surgery? The pill can make things a lot worse, my endometriosis grew at an incredible rate whilst I was in Yasmin, they were the most painful years of my life and I’ve given birth without pain relief!

The mirena coil is fantastic. I would look into contacting a nutritionist about diet and supplements as that can help to calm some of the symptoms which are made worse by increased inflammation. This lady was fantastic:

If not there are podcasts by ‘the endometriosis nutritionist’ on Spotify which are great too.

But don’t let them treat you this way, it’s not right! Sending you warm healing vibes xxx

I hope

Thank you for replying! I had an ovarian cyst and endometriosis tissue removed during a laproscopy.

I will definitely give the podcast a listen thank you.

I have thought about the coil but not quite sure it's right for me but will still keep it in consideration.

In some ways I don't even think complaining would even change anything but their care was abysmal. It's made me feel like the diagnosis has become a big thing in every aspect of my life when it wasn't necessarily before the op if that makes sense even though the symptoms are the same!

Have you had a similar experience?

Thank you for the advice as well it's really appreciated and hope your well and better too.

Best wishes x
