Hi, I am 22 years old and have finally been told that I could have endometriosis after years and years of going to the doctor for painful periods. I am finally being referred to gynecology to be put on the waiting list for a laparoscopy. I just have some questions.
Does anyone else find that some of their periods are nowhere near as bad as others? for example I am currently on my period and haven't slept for 5 nights due to excruciating pain and sickness. But then I have had periods where I have 'normal' period pains, for example, i can walk and go to work, etc. Is this normal for endo or could this mean I don't have it?
I'm struggling to believe myself that something is actually wrong due to the number of doctors telling me I'm just young and having bad periods. Please any advice would be greatly appreciated.

HiThat’s great you have a referral 🙂 keep notes and a pain diary. The Endo UK have one on their website.
My periods would vary depending how I felt, what I’d be doing. Some months the pain would be for days, others would be a doddle. If emotions reared in the week before my period was easier.
Every symptom in the run up, during and after, include any change in bowel habits. All is important. When you go to see Gynae have someone with you if you can, not only extra pair of ears but shows you have some support.
You’ll be ok 🙂 not sure if this helps, please ask anything
