Hi, I’m just wondering if there are any successful stories of having IVF treatment with endo? I am due to start treatment soon but will be freezing embryos so that I can have surgery to remove my tubes as I have bilateral hydrosalpinx, been TTC for over 2 years with no luck. I am really hoping the IVF works but so scared in case it doesn’t. As this will be my last hope. It would really help to know if others have been in this situation and had successful IVF?

Hi there.I have stage 4 endometriosis and PCOS and also tried to get pregnant naturally for a while with no success. I went through IVF and now have a beautiful healthy baby girl who is 15 months old and am about to use my last embryo to try for a second baby.

You will get there, you just have to keep on trying and have faith that it will one day happen. Wishing you tons of luck and I’m here if you have any questions. X

i just smiled reading this. It just gave e me hope .. I am about to start my treatment with stage 4 Endometriosis diagnosis. Did u have laparoscopy done before ur ivf treatment? Also please if u don’t mind, the embryo freezing, do u request for it to be done ? I have paid for two cycles but no one told me if I can freeze my embryo for later use. Thanks

hi there

Thanks for getting in touch.

I didn’t have a laparoscopy before starting treatment but I’ve heard stories where people have had it done and then fallen pregnant naturally.

Re the embryo freezing, it depends on a couple of things. One being the number of embryos that make it to day 5 (post egg collection and once they have been mixed with the sleep). If you have more than one embryo at day 5 they will freeze the surplus. The second being whether you are well enough to have a fresh embryo transfer. I developed something called Ovarian Hyper Simulation Syndrome (OHSS) post egg collection and was too ill to have a fresh transfer so my 5 embryos had to be frozen and I had to wait a couple of months before I could have a frozen transfer. The rest of my transfers were therefore all frozen. If you’ve had your treatment via the NHS I think they freeE your embryos free of charge for up to 3 years and then you have to start paying for storage. It’s worth speaking to your clinic to find out what their processes are.

Hope that helps and best of luck with everything x

thank you so much this. Your reply has been really helpful. I am about to go through the ivf treatment. But not with NHS, I have been on the queue with nhs for laparoscopy for over two years now so I’m going with a private hospital. I just wanted to know if someone with stage four have gone for ivf and was successful without laparoscopy.

I'm pregnant after years of trying naturally with endo. 7 years in fact. Ive had two laps but last one was more than 3 years ago and pain came back so when i had ivf i basically needed another lap but stayed cleared as per my consultants advice as it can damage your ovary reserve. ❤️

congratulations to you.. happy for you. This is really giving me hope. I’m starting my treatments next month and my consultant advised me not to have the lap yet. I’m so hopeful and nervous at the same time. It’s so expensive doing it private.
