Yes. And it was terrible. I took this for 6 months and received all the side effects (acne, alopecia, shortness of breath, chest pains, depression, insomnia, subfebrile temperature, gastrointestinal tract problems, unexpected chills were replaced by sweating, dry skin). It's been 1.5 years, but I still feel like these pills drank my life, beauty and youth, I feel old and ugly. And they did not help me

I feel for you. That sounds horrendous. I’ve just finished 2 and a half years on zoladex and my consultant has now suggested I start Visanne.

There is also a possibility that I’ll have to pay for it if my gp won’t prescribe 😳

My doctor canceled this after I said that I had thoughts of suicide, I live on the 10th floor and constantly look down... After the second surgery, I was prescribed Duphaston (dydrogesterone 20 mg) . My body takes normally this pils, but I will have to take it my whole life

Hi Big Bang! I've been on dienogest (the brand Zalkya) for 6 weeks now in combination with Cerrelle mini pill. I was previously on the combined low oestrogen pill. Since starting them my mood has suffered and my skin keeps breaking out, but I've not bled this month (used to get breakthrough bleeding a lot) and my pain has improved a bit. I've still got the continual dull ache in my pelvis but had no massive flair ups yet on it which has been great. I did have a light period on the first week of taking it and passed a lot of really dark brown clots, so think it gave me a bit of a clear out so to speak. I'm also not sleeping and have a bit of brain fog, but unsure if this is due to the dienogest, a result of the low mood, or just a coincidence. I have a friend who suffered bad mood swings and anger with it, which didn't improve in 6 months, so changed to another treatment. I do think everyone has different experiences with it, but most of what I have read suggest that depression might be quite common as a side effect. My consultant has said he has had a good success rate so far prescribing it, with most patients sticking with it as it seemingly gradually improves over time.I saw your reply to the last post about paying for your prescription too ... My GP has prescribed it (I'm in Scotland were we don't pay for prescriptions) on the advice of my Consultant, but most pharmacies don't stock it, so it has to be ordered in. Just a word of warning in case you do decide to take it, as it takes me about a week to get the pills after I request the prescription so need to be on the ball.

Hope you are well 🙂
