I’ve been referred to a specialist after YEARS of pain and my current doctor strongly suspects endometriosis. I’m seeing a specialist on Friday, but I’m so nervous about the tests that are/might be involved. I have a crippling phobia of needles and injections and have contemplated putting off seeing the specialist due to my fears (silly, I know). I’m pushing forward with the appointment, but would love to know what tests people had? Just so I can ready myself and stop myself panicking! I’m sure I’ll be unable to avoid blood tests etc. but if anyone could let me know what they went through, I’d find it comforting! (I think)

So good news I never had a blood test. My initial gynae consisted of me going through my symptoms, frequency etc, what I had tried to control the symptoms (pills, painkillers) . An internal exam, speculum and then with fingers pressing outside to see if /where was tender. I'd already had an ultrasound so they already had those results to check to.
After that we agreed to do surgery, and only on the day off surgery was there a needle. No blood tests at preop or anything for me.
