I seem to have no warning of a flare up apart from I know when I’ve been stressed I’m likely to have repercussions. It starts with severe cramping, pain in my lower back and legs which is like when I get a menstral cycle but then I get really bad diarrhoea that is so sudden I really have to rush to the toilet. Just wondered if anyone else experiences this with their endometriosis?

Anyone have sudden onset of uncontrollable diarrhoea when having a flare up?
I had this when I was a teenager (32 now) but at that point was a long way from being diagnosed so can't say it was the endo or not. But I know there's a lot of frustration of us endo sufferers being diagnosed with IBS!
When I was first being seen I mentioned that I had gone through it, my consultant then found endo on my bowel during a lap and said it made sense. Everyone is different though and I hope this isn't the case for you.
I have been told in the past that there is a link between endo and IBS. Even if this isn’t IBS and is endo related, the same sort of medication might help reduce the cramping and rush to the loo. Speak to your GP. Personally I find Buscopan good for general cramping, but have tried mebeverine in the past too.
Yes I get those symptoms plus chest and shoulder pain xx
Yes me, I got diagnosed many years ago with IBS and only 5 years ago got diagnosed with endometriosis and adenomyosis. There is definitely a link as I am currently under bowel investigation for diarrhoea. On mebeverine but it doesn’t help, when you need to go, nothing will stop that for me anyway 🤣
Hi. You might find our webinar on Endometriosis and IBS interesting endometriosis-uk.org/endome.... Best wishes

Yes, me too. I’ve cut right back on caffeine and now drink lots of lemon & ginger tea which seems to help.
