I was wondering how quickly stress can cause endo symptoms and flare ups? I know it’s likely to be very individual but I’ve had a ridiculously stressful day and am day 18 of cycle which is my predictably awful fatigue day and bloat and gas with IBS too. But it’s been insanely stressful and as the say has gone on I’ve had cramps, diarrhoea and now excruciating urethra UTI type pain which I don’t usually get for another week and it’s more severe. I’m spiralling about if it is my bladder endo or if I’ve now got a uti or if it’s something else and I’m new to identifying the stress endo link rather than stress IBS and gut brain link to symptoms.
Any experiences of bladder endo symptoms and stress related symptoms and then flares would be really appreciated.

Hi there. I suffer from terrible bladder/urethra pain. I’m currently undergoing prostap treatment and it’s even worse than normal. I have what feels like a constant water infection. When I’m not on prostap I experience the same pain on roughly the same days as you. I am always stressed. I have a stressful job, stressful family life and I just don’t wind down. Stress causes the body to tense up so maybe after a stressful day/ experience our bladders spasm. It is a muscle that probably tenses up like any other muscle. After my lap (3 yrs ago) is when my bladder issues started, I didn’t really have problems until after surgery. I don’t know if it is something to do with the catheter, maybe? All I know is I’ve never been the same since that lap. Prostap works for my adeno/ Endo symptoms but I definitely feel worse around the bladder and urethra. My doc prescribed me mebeverine which I think is similar to buscopan and works as an anti-spasmodic. It did help but I’m not sure three years on I should be feeling like this. Hope all that has helped, Donna
