So I’m 24wks and debating between csection or vbac.
Has anyone had any experience of a section with severe endometriosis? Did it make things worse or was it more complicated? Was recovery ok?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi. Congratulations and I hope you are feeling well and enjoying your pregnancy. Yes I have stage 4 deep infiltrated endometriosis and had an elective c-section. Didn’t have any problems with the endo ( a few other complications but nothing endo related). It was my 4th surgery so for recovery I took my time, all the pain relief and was well prepared with food and everything we’d need. It was in 2019 and I’ve been fine since with no issues with the endometriosis so far. If you what to know anything more please feel free to ask 😊. Xx
Ah thank you for replying. I am leaning towards a section but was worried it may be harder due to scar tissue/adhesion . I did have excision surgery in March 2019 and recovered well from that , didn’t want to risk anything happening! Can I ask what contraception you use now if any?
Hi. Hope you are ok. I had placenta previa so didn’t have any choice and as I had a few issues it was done at 37 weeks ( none endometriosis issues). They didn’t mention scar tissue being a problem this time, but it was a problem with surgery 1&2 but the 3rd surgery was a full clean up as he put it so that could be why. I don’t get on with contraception pills tried various ones and they send me a bit loopy, since my last endometriosis surgery in 2017 I have little to no pain so havent needed to try anything since then. Have you been getting endo pain during your pregnancy? Xx
Thanks very much that’s very helpful. I’ve had minimal to no pain since my excision surgery but worried it will all come back once I’ve had this baby. This is my last so I’m not planning on more however my periods were a bit erratic for a year and the go said I was pre menopausal after doing some blood tests.
