I’ve been in induced menopause for 4 months. It was great for around 3 months then the every day pain started, feeling really bad pressure and pains in my ovaries, every minute of every day. I had a review with my consultant yesterday who said she doesn’t understand how I can still be in pain if my ovaries aren’t working??? She said she’s never heard of it before. Has anyone been in induced menopause and still felt pain every single day? Does anyone also recommend an endo specialist within the UK? I’m in NI but happy to travel anywhere (after covid)

Hello. Endometriosis doesn't need a period, or ovaries to grow or cause pain. There's women who have gone through the menopause who have endo and symptoms.
Yes unfortunately gynaecologist who aren't endo specialist think that it's impossible but that's not true. Have a look at the bsge centres website. These are centres specifically for endometriosis they usually only deal with the stages 3 and 4.
But it may be that you not responding to the injection is an indication of this. You can find your local centres and ask if you can be reffered to them. It's only the Dr's listed that are part of the specialist centres, it didn't cover every drum the hospital.
I've been on prostap for 3 months, Due my 4th injection on Monday. My periods haven't even stopped yet and endo pains have go hypo!!I hate it when they say "I've never heard of that before " Makes you start to doubt yourself. What they really mean is they haven't got a clue!!
Yeah I really thought to myself, maybe it’s not endo. I sometimes feel so crazy. She said maybe you have IBS but I know 10000% I don’t, my womb and ovaries hurt every single second of the day, it’s not my stomach
You know where your pains are and how it effects you. Keep pushing for answers. IBS is another fob of when they don't have a clue. I spent a year going through gastro/bowel tests and nothing showed up it was the endo all the time. Your not going crazy it's just Dr's are still learning about endo but don't like to admit it.Take care
