Hi everyone hope your all well, I have spoke to the ivf doctor who found an endometrioma on my left ovary and they tested my tumor markers and he said they are raised but thinks it might be due to the endometrioma has anyone experienced this before? He said they will keep an eye on me but I'm going on prostap for a few months, so hopefully that should help with my symptoms, I just worry about this pain I get in the side thats not related to the cyst iv had it a while now, any reply would be appreciated, thank you endo warriors xx
I have a raised tumour markers: Hi everyone... - Endometriosis UK
I have a raised tumour markers
Hi.. When my investigations first started for a pain I was getting in my lower right side they done several bloods on me, one was the CA125 marker, the results came back a lot higher than it should have been, to say I was freaked out was an understatement. I had all sorts going through my mind. But it turned out it was down to a large endometrioma cyst growing on my right ovary. I still have the cyst as they were unable to remove it during my lap, at my last bloods my marker was still high.
Hope this helps 🥰
Hi. Was this a CA125 test? My levels were 412 last time they were tested so my case was sent to a cancer MDT who arranged MRI for me. It was all very scary. From the MRI they have discharged me from cancer MDT to endo center as scan apparently shows deep endo which can also cause high CA125 results. I hope this helps a little bit I know how worrying it is.
Hello. From what I understand, endometriosis can cause elevated Ca125 levels. It is more common if you have endometriomas, or deep infiltrating endometriosis. Ca125 isn't a specific tumour marker and can be elevated in other conditions too. Hope this helps, but if you have concerns please raise them with your IVF consultant
Hi, my ca125 (tumour marker) was raised, I had an ultrasound which showed a 6cm endometrioma on my left ovary. I was then referred to gynae oncology (very scary), discussed at MDT and had an MRI which found deep infiltrating endometriosis, adenomyosis and an endometrioma. Raised tumour markers can indicate endometriosis. There are different tumour marker blood tests, I've only had ca125.I have been on prostap for 3 months and found it has helped with my endo symptoms, less pain and no bleeding. Side effects of prostap have been more manageable than endo. Hope this helps x
