Hot flushes

So.. .

Hot flushes. I'm new to the Menopause.

But I've been having these flushes that are like I have my own personal furnace. Then I have a wee roll around in bed, stick out my limbs, get a bit of relief then I'm freezing!

And then it just keeps bloody going alllllllll night long. Is there any solution or do I just have to roll about my bed like a restless monkey all night? 🐒

Are you on HRT? Sympathies. I am in medical menopause, I take Zoladex. What I found really helpful is some cooling gel pads that I put under my pillow case after I leave them in the fridge for a few hours. They don't last all night, but if I am cool when I go to bed, I am more likely to sleep all night.

Another thing which helps me is very cold (iced) water in an insulated bottle. I keep it on my bedside table and if I wake up hot in the night, I take a few sips, it's still very cold and it helps cool me down.

I am ok-ish during the day. I swear these hot flushes are on a timer and know when I'm trying to sleep!

I'm in medical menopause too.

Not on HRT though. I like the gel pads idea. My flushes are on a timer too. What a pain in the backside!
