For the past month I would say I’ve had extreme vaginal discomfort, pressure and itching. I had some swabs done at the doctors and they came back normal and the GP thinks the pain I’m experiencing is due to my endometriosis 😫
I’ve since used an over the counter medicine for bacterial vaginosis and have started bleeding but when I spoke to the GP again, they just reiterated that they think its just the endometriosis and they can’t think of anything to help apart from wait until I have another laparoscopy in September.
My question is, have any of you lot experienced this and can offer any support or help? Its so painful to walk and the pains spreading up to my ovaries.
Thank you

If you are in pain because of Endometriosis, your pelvic muscles might have ‘tensed’ up. It’s like a fight or flight reaction the body takes when a part of you is in pain.
It may be useful to start some pelvic floor exercises/deep breathing exercises to relax the muscles and if you need more advice a specialist physiotherapist in the pelvic area.
I have been seeing one and can say that I feel less discomfort but it does take a lot of time and patience.
Usually if a swab comes back negative, there are no infections (no bacterial vaginosis), but maybe the swab was not thorough and you didn't test for all infections (you usually need to test for Chlamydia, Gardnerella, Trichomonas, all Ureaplasma and all Mycoplasma bacterial strains). If it isn't bacterial vaginosis, it also could be Candida.
It could also be vulvodynia or pain on nerves from endometriosis. I suggest you see a pelvic floor therapist in this case. The pain spreading to your ovaries suggests ligaments could be affected.
Hi, did you ever get to the root of this? I am also experiencing similar symptoms and am wondering if it could be due to my endo after GP failed to find an infection on swab (and did a pelvic exam that was fine).
