How to identify private BSGE consultants

Hi,

I have just been diagnosed with endometriosis via a diagnostic lap with a general gynaecologist (no excision). I don't believe I meet the requirements for a referral to an NHS BSGE centre but would like to go private for excision as my area does not have an NHS consultant who has a special interest in endometriosis.

I have seen the BSGE centres list, but how can I tell which consultants also see patients privately? So far I have booked an appointment with Mr Mann in Birmingham as I can see him privately and he is within a few hours drive. However I would also like to see if I can find another option to compare.

If you look up the names of lead consultants at the BSGE centres near you then you can Google their names to find out where their private practice is based. That’s what I did to locate a particular consultant who I was treated by and then moved hospitals. Xxx
