Hi there

I have been back and forward to the doctors for about a year now, wirh multiple scans (inside and out) After being back today the doctor told me she thought it was endometriosis so I’m being refered to gynaecology urgently and had a second lot of bloods done.

My symptoms include pain in my left side of stomach as well as middle of stomach, sickness, pelvic and back pain, tiredness and pins and needles in my legs. Does this sound familiar?

I am very anxious because I’m in a lot of pain without knowing the cause.

Thankyou

Currently battling similar issue with right leg pain(pins and needles) and right pelvic pain. I did have trouble conceiving my son but was able to after 3 years and treating ovarian cyst. But since back to pain , irregular cycles and this excruciating leg pain. Ultrasound showed multiple cysts on my right ovary , tilted uterus., And my right ovary stuck to my uterus. Having laproscopy Nov 26th to look, hoping we can figure out this pain. Wondering if anyone diagnosed had similar problems with legs.

Were they able to tell the tour ovary was stuck to your uterus from a scan?

I do have cysts and a tilted uterus, but they don’t think that would cause this pain and symptoms.

Good luck with your laparoscopy

Yes , my gyno has an ultrasound tech in her office and she only does it for gyno issues. She said she also thinks my uterus is stuck as when she pushed around my tummy and my uterus wouldn't move. But not sure how accurate a vaginal ultrasound is in this situations. I guess the lap will tell for sure.

I am in a similar situation...awful pelvic pain... I had 2 transvaginal scans 2 days apart... one in my country... which shows adenomiosis and another here which is completely normal..

Which doctor di I have to believe?

It could be endometriosis, being referred is a good thing, it means you'll have a specialist look at you and talk to you about what happens next, treatment options etc.

You'll need a diagnostic laparaoscopy as that's the only formal method for diagnosing endo. It doesn't always show up on any other scans so needs to be seen visually, also it's easier to visually see how much there is, where it is and what effect it's having on organs.

Here's my experience of it all if you'd like a read:

"All this effort does pay off - my story - hope it helps !"

Just find it on my profile / posts or search on here.

Hopefully it'll help with some questions you have xx

Yes completely. Your symptoms were almost exactly the same as mine. I was finally diagnosed after a lap prior to starting IVF. Think you're lucky you're being referred and listened to. For maybe 10+ years I was told it was IBS and just regular period pains.

Hope you get an answer and find something that works for you x

Did you have any other symptoms?

The doctor was doubting endometriosis due to my lack of irregular heavt bleeding but i am on the coil.

I had quite irregular bleeds (most around 19 days not 21). Heavyness in thighs, back pain (near kidney) only left side about a week before my period... so I knew exactly what it was. Feeling faint sometimes. I did have a ruptured cyst a couple of times. A really sudden sharp stabbing pain in one side, cold sweats and shock like symptoms. Scared the life out of me but was confirmed when I went into hospital with scans.

I think I've always known I have had it, but when the GP dismissed it I just moved on thinking not much I can do about it then anyhow. I should have gone on the pill maybe or looked at an Endo diet possibly. The coil will give you those symptoms. I had those too. I was only finally diagnosed with a lap (prior to starting ivf) as my tubes were damaged from Endo and I had large chocolate cysts that they wanted to remove. By the time I had the surgery it had done so much damage inside. Wishing you all the best x

I had the exact same symptoms as you have described, two days ago I had my first laparoscopy to which they discovered I did have endometriosis but couldn’t remove it at the time of the operation. So I wouldn’t worry too much as I was very anxious but all of the doctors and nurses are so lovely and helpful and finally you will get some answers which is a massive relief! I hope it all goes well
