I am going on holiday in 4 weeks to Salou, Spain and I’m just wondering what to do about medications. I have codeine, diclofenac and I am waiting to see my gp to be prescribed some sort of antispasmodic medication. Will I need a doctors later to take these into the country or will I be ok? It is my first time travelling abroad since my diagnosis so I’m abit scared to go with no drugs incase I get a flare up 😩

Make sure you take your meds in the packaging you received it in, with the labels from the chemist etc and the other part of your prescription that the pharmacy give you back

Get a letter from your GP, take all medications in original packaging. Keel prescriptions if poss. Check the Gov. website to see anything about taking medications abroad to Spain and if still worried, call the Spanish embassy to double check :) xx

Hey I’m about to go on holiday to Spain and I’m worried about taking all my pain killers, like you it’s the first time I’ve been since my diagnosis. I’ve got a doctors note confirming I take these for my endometriosis. I was just wondering if you had any issues? Was a doctors note enough with the medication in the packaging? I’m getting so stressed security are going to have an issue with it all because I’m on so much daily so will be taking a huge amount of codeine etc. I hope you had a nice holiday xx

I only took paracetamol ibuprofen and diclofenac. I put them all in me suitcase and didn’t have any problems. I think maybe if you take them through security they will want to know but I’m not sure. I didn’t have enough time to get a doctors note so just risked it and it was fine xx

Hey thanks for your reply. I forgot to mention but I do actually have a doctors note. Do you think he would have told me if I needed one of those licences? I go a week on Saturday 😬 x

I went on holiday to Spain last year and took my migraine medication aswell as Naproxen and omeprazole (at the time I wasn't diagnosed with endo). I just made sure all my medication was in its original packaging with thr repeat prescription slip. I wasn't asked about it when we landed in Spain or when we flew back. Check the direct gov website just to be sure but I think you'll be fine.
