I know this is a common topic, but I just wanted to see whether anyone gets similar pain as me when being intimate? For me it feels like someone is punching an internal bruise?! The only way I can describe it lol!

pain during sexytimee
Hey, I know the feeling haha. Luckily I’m in a long distance relationship for now. It feels like a stabbing pain that occurs quite deep in my pelvis and then I get cramping for 3 days afterwards xx
Hey, I had the same pain, kind of like a bruise or stabbing, small like pins, because I had a little bleeding just after sex I had a cervical smear done plus vaginal swabs, and suspected endo (with other symptoms). The smear came back inconclusive, swabs showed nothing, further swabs of my cervix showed cervical ectropion (where cells further up the cervix come down the base and so hurt when rubbed, and can bleed), this was treated chemically. I had a hysteroscopy and visual examination done as the same time as my lap (lap confirmed endo on uterus, bladder and bowel with sticking together), hysteroscopy showed a fibroid in uterus, visual exam showed a flattened pubic arch which can cause pain during sex like friction burn if prolonged. My specialist said quite often its something sticking the vagina walls or uterus to other things as during sex the vagina moves and stretches so if somethings stopping this it can hurt.
It's best to get it checked out, after all it shouldn't hurt. I was initially embarrassed but my specialist was really easy to talk to I took my partner along for moral support, it also helped as my specialist asked him if he noticed any differences when we're intimate, and what he could try to help.
If sex is important to you and your relationship, have it seen to as soon as you can as it can get worse and that could ruin your intimacy and your relationship xx
thank you - I do have a slightly abnormal smear result from last year and I'm waiting for my follow up results. Also waiting for my lap surgery date...
abnormal smears should be followed up quickly, there's risks of some serious stuff, don't mean to scare you, but to put your mind at rest get in touch with your gp to arrange a follow up appt.
good luck on the lap surgery date xx
Does pain during sex tend to be caused by organs being stuck to the uterus etc or can it be anything? I’ve had swabs and scans and all came back clear so I still have no answers. Just gotta wait for my lap xx
I had the same convo with my specialist; it can be anything; physical or nerves, if it's not physical as in there's no visual problem - scans are okay but actual lap is needed to see inside the abdomen / outside of vagina / uterus. Hysteroscopies are good too at looking inside the vagina / uterus. Specialist says pain during sex once the mental / emotional issues are put aside it's 90% of problems are physical and 10% is nerves so chemical / electrical responses - these are more difficult to treat but there is treatment.
Glad someone’s mentioned this! This was my only real symptom. Don’t bleed on the pill I’m on at all really so can’t say if I have bad period pains.
My pain was like a stabbing pain that shot up to my stomach. The endometriosis that he removed in my laparoscopy was in that area too. And I usually had a little bit of bleeding. I still don’t quite understand how it caused that pain though. Laparoscopy was Friday before last but I’m terrified of the pain still occurring once I’m well enough again...
I’ve got a follow up appointment on 18th and I have lots of questions! X
