I am in agony and I have PCOS and was told I don’t have endometriosis as they did a scan and scrapings from inside my womb. Should I be pushing my doctor to be seen again by a specialist as it has been mentioned to me that you can not always tell buy just having them two things done.
Thanks for reading.

Endometriosis can occur both in the vagina anywhere else in the body, biopsies of the womb may show for any unusual lining problems but won't show endometriosis as that's where lining normally is. The biopsies of the uterus and vagina are usually carried out with a hysteroscopy and visual examination, this is usually under general anaesthetic.
Your PCOS symptoms may be managed by medication but you'll need to discuss that with a specialist - also look at other problems you may have - an endo / fibroid / cyst specialist may be able to help. I went to see a specialist in endo, heavy periods, abdomen pain and fertility - he really helped with discussing what they could do to investigate my symptoms.
Have you made a list of your symptoms? Including a month a day diary with your cycle marked on it and pain / feeling including a pain scale from say 1 to 5 and the locations of the pain. That will help you to ascertain whether it looks like endo. If you go to the endometriosis-uk.org/public... and there's a Consultation Questionnaire, it may be an idea to fill that in and take it to your appointment. The only formal diagnosis for endo is a laparoscopy, if you're happy with that you could ask them to remove whatever endo / cysts etc they can find at the same time as that means one op.
From the hormonal side you can have the pill or the coil, but those won't always work and they come with their own side effects, and aren't a quick solution and PCOS and endo cannot be cured. And it depends on whether you want to know what's going on first before making a decision on medication.
Thank you. Yes I have kept a track of everything to go back to the docs with today. I would rather know what it going on and then how to manage it. I have been on a “period “ for 24 days now and had 12 bleeds in 7 months. So I am very concerned about what is going on.
I have had a hysteroscopy back in June 2016 and had no problems since then till now. So I will mention everything to the doctor tonight and see who I can get referred to.
