Possible Adenomyosis... anyone have any information? Feeling really deflated!

Hi everyone,

I have just come back from an appointment with a new consultant (my 5th specialist in 10 years). I have now been informed that following a internal examination it doesn't feel like my endometriosis has reoccurred. However it feels like/along with my symptoms I described that I am suffering from adenomyosis.

10 years ago a growth in the lining of my uterus was noticed on my 1st ever internal ultrasound and was confirmed by an MRI.

However since then and the occasional Radiologist confusing the growth with an embryo nothing has ever been mentioned about it. Everything has been focused on my endometriosis.

I was just wondering what symptoms adenomyosis causes and if they are different from the symptoms of endometriosis?

Also does anyone know what the affect on fertility is. As I have just finished Letrozle 5mg to hopefully induce ovulation as I have PCOS and Clomid did not work.

I am booked for an MRI with a follow up to talk through the results and confirm the adenomyosis. But as you all will be aware because of the current state of NHS I'm not expecting this to be any time soon, so I was just wondering if anyone had any information in the mean time.

Thanks in advance

Holl x

Ironically I was first misdiagnosed as having adeno when I actually only have endo.

Thank You, I have had a read of them and some other stuff online to.

It kind of makes sense as to why my last 2 surgeries to remove my Endo haven't helped with the pain... if the pain wasn't actually caused by the Endo but Adeno.

Thanks for replying, really appreciate it xx

Np.

Just a bit. Tbf adeno is notoriously difficult to diagnose and it would seem to be the lesser known condition.
