Has anyone else been diagnosed with umbilical endometriosis??

Yes! My whole life I had this weird little green coloured outie belly button, my parents were told when I was younger that it was probably just a bit of my umbilical cord remaining so no one thought anything of it.

I was told I had probably had endo when I was about 17 but wasn’t properly diagnosed until my lap last year (at 32, after pain for years and years!).

The surgeon had a good look at the outie before I went down and said it could be endo and they’d remove it and run some tests. A while after the op I got a letter saying all tissue removed was endo.

I had never realised my weird little belly button was endo and that I’ve had it all my life.

Blimey you’ve suffered a while my problem only seems to have started a few months ago but has now been getting progressively worse each month I’m dreading next months flare up as this month was unbearable but still seem to be waiting and waiting for an appointment to see a consultant with the odd comment from the gp to take ibuprofen, which does absolutely nothing 😖 😭

Unfortunately so many doctors still don’t understand endo. I was lucky to move to an area with a specialist endo team at my nearest hospital.

I have had the Mirena for the last 7 or so years. That helped loads.

I hope you get to see a consultant soon!
