I have just been diagnosed with endometriosis and beyond devastated
I have been trying to conceive since Jan of this year and so my dr sent me for some tests and i just got this diagnosis yesterday
I feel so upset, deflated, down etc
Are my hopes of having a baby finished now?
I will be 44 next month 
Any help, advice, support, anything would be appreciated xx

Just read the letter - it says my right ovary is stuck to the womb! I went to my dr today and she said to keep trying to conceive and that I could go to counselling group! I feel so upset 😢 don’t know what to do. I asked if I should have op she didn’t say I should/could...
Adhesions you have hun. I got diagnosed in Feb with endo blocked tubes and a large adhesion band going to my bowel they said it would cost be thousands to get pregnant and if I did it would most likely be ectopic. I researched came across serrapeptase started taking it and I'm now 7 weeks pregnant look it up hun it eats away at adhesions cysts mucous things that shouldn't be there. It may help you as long as your not on blood thinning meds plus it will stop scar tissue from forming from your lap. 💗🤗😘

Thank you.Drs don't seem to know about over here but in other countries they've prescribed it for years. I got mine from Holland and Barrett there's lots of places online you can get it just make sure you get the enteric coated one and you take it on an empty stomach. I take mine either last thing at night or first thing in morning and don't eat for an hour xx

I was diagnosed with endo earlier this year. I tried for a baby for 2 years before I fell pregnant and then miscarried at 9 weeks. Then had the lap to diagnose endo, this was because of pain and not due to infertility, however i knew it would help to find out why it took so long to conceive. I had endo everywhere appart from bowel and tubes, and my left ovary was adhered to my pelvic wall. I'm a year down the line since my miscarriage and still haven't conceived again. I had my endo removed last month and have heard a lot of success stories about ladies getting pregnant quickly after having their endo removed so I'm hopeful. I would push to be referred for excision if I were you, it's ridiculous they haven't offered you it as endo can spread and affect the functioning of other organs. Did you have your lap through a fertility doctor or through general gynae? I just ask as most of us ladies on here we're referred to general gynaecology due to symptoms of endo, and I think the doctors understanding of the condition and treatment is better than through fertility doctors.

It was the gp that sent me to the hospital for the appt - is it worthwhile me getting a 2nd opinion maybe? Or going to see a private dr?
You don't necessarily need to see a private dr. I would ask your gp to refer you to a gynaecologist as you would like to explore treatment of your endo. Of course you will get soon quicker if you go private, but that's up to you. I'm under an NHS gynae and hes fab. I didnt have to wait too long. I think it was about 8 weeks from gp referring me and then my first lap date was 4 weeks after that. I did have to cancel that tho as found out I was pregnant. But when I was re-referred it was quick again, had my lap within about 6 weeks of the referral. Has your doctor done other fertility tests? If not ask them to do day 1 and 21 bloods to check your hormone levels if you are worried about your age. I'm still in my 20's but I have a high fsh level which can indicate low ovarian reserve. Might help you to decide if you can afford to wait on the NHS or if you think it's worth paying private.

Keep positive everyone sometimes things just happen! I’ve had endo since my early 20’s but self diagnosed by my symptoms as gp & fertility drs said I was wrong. I went for IVF and the Dr there scanned me and declined doing ivf as she said I had severe endo and had a chocolate cyst on my ovary. I went away and was deveststed as I had been trying for nearly 5 yrs and nothing!
HOWEVER I did not know I was just pregnant and a little miracle had happened. Be hopefully sometimes it just happens.
I would say get adhesions cleared as I was advised not to and my second pregnancy ended in a nasty late ruptured ectopic and now can’t have any more. I am convinced the ectopic got stuck in the tube where I had adhesions.
I wish there was a crystal ball for you all so you can know as trying to get pregnant is a mind game of torture, anger and the most amazing heartbreak which repeats monthly.
I’m in a calm place now and have lost the anger at people who have loads of babies easily. But I’m amazed at the amount of people who feel they have a right to ask why I haven’t had more kids!

I always thought I would be a mum and was really broody but then as time went on it just didn’t happen and I thought maybe I am not meant too, maybe I am too old etc.. but then I met someone and we are in such a good place and I thought let’s see and if it happens it happens but now being told that I have Endo I feel so deflated and gutted that even if I wanted to be a mum now, the chances are very low. I will though have the blood tests and go back to dr re further referrals and keep trying and who knows but I am 44 soon..... I may of missed the boat

I’m 30. We have 1 child who is almost 3 years old. We conceived him after 3 months trying to conceive (TTC).
We had been TTC our second child for 8 months before I saw a fertility doctor. Call it women’s intuition, but I just felt like something wasn’t right. Cue 7 months of appointments, tests, procedures, and finally exploratory surgery where they found extensive endo throughout my pelvis. In the end we’d been TTC for 15 months when we got the endo diagnosis.
During my surgery they removed as much endo as they could, and they gave the green light to try TTC again in a few months. We’ve postponed it though. Mentally, since the diagnosis, I’m not ready to go through the TTC process again.
When I went to the dr yesterday I did mention surgery but she wasn’t very responsive to that and said keep trying and that they have counselling groups - she was a tad cold and inside I was crying!! Ho could she be so very matter of fact. I am going to see another dr (a nicer one!) after bloods and see what she suggests.... x
After age 40 it is actually recommended to consult with a fertility doctor before trying to conceive. I would make an appointment with a fertility specialist ASAP to discuss your options. The doctor who performed my endo surgery was my fertility doctor. At age 44 do not wait any longer. Good luck!
