Morning

On Monday I got diagnosed with endometriosis, was told they tried to treat it but couldn't because it's behind my womb. Is there anyone else with the same where it's behind the womb and if so what happened. Got to go back and see my consultant in November to discuss my options. just thought I'd ask to put my mind at rest.

Thanks

Dionne

Mine is behind my womb and was treated successfully at a BSGE centre. My womb had fused to my bowel with it and was successfully released and the endo removed. Unfortunately it did come back but it can be treated. Xxx

You've made my day, I've done nothing but read up on it and my minds been doing over time on it all. What is a BSGE centre? X

There are lots of diffident options and as above someone who is a specialist in endo would be able to treat surgically more cases than your general gyne. There are other options available also which work for some and not others

Are you at a BSGE centre?

No not at a BSGE centre sorry to sound thick but unsure what it is.

Bsge is where you can find an accredited endometriosis centre which specialises in what we have, near you.

Stick Bsge in google and it will give you more details etc.

Hope that helps and makes sense.xx

Hi

I just had endo removed from the back of my womb (guessing it's the same). He did excision in my first lap so you should be able to get it removed too.

Could someone tell me how you ensure it doesn't come back? I thought once it was removed it wasn't gone for life. Very sad to hear of this 😞

No idea just going on what they told me after my lapo. Will guess I'll see what they say in November when I see them again.

Unsure what you can take to prevent it sorry x

I’m waiting to understand this too Hun. I think the coil can stop the growth (not sure) and than managing it with diet. Very keen to hear what they say. Hugs hun.xx

I had some old endometriosis behind my womb lasered off about a year ago. I was told that it shouldn't come back, but I suffer from really bad lower back pain and hip pain to the point I can't actually lie on my back sometimes. Especially the run up to my period. It's really frustrating, but everytime I've been to the doctor's about what I can do for the pain I've been fogged off.

I’ve suffered with a bad back now for the past 2 years and I didn’t know till other day it can be part of the symptoms. I’m really suffering this week since having the lap as well. Guess I best get used to it haven’t I x

Mine was really bad when I had my lap as well. It will definitely take a few weeks to ease off whilst you are healing, but it's definitely not something we should just have to get used to. I'm currently sat with my hot water bottle, because my pain is going down the backs of my legs as well. Did they say why they couldn't treat the endometriosis behind your womb or will you have to wait to find out?

Ive has to have another week off work as I’m definitely not right to go back tomorrow. Getting very tired easily too. My doctor said it will be a few weeks till I’ll be healed. Oh bless you, I think I need to invest in a hot water bottle. Does it help in anyway? I’m in co-codamol 30/500 for my pain at moment but doesn’t help. It’s agony. No they didn’t say they said we would discuss it when I go see them in November. Just feels like ages away before I know more. X

Definitely take the time you need to heal. I had about 4 weeks of rest before I went back to work, it does really take it out of you and all you want to do is sleep. It helps me feel a bit more comfortable rather than helping with the pain but I'd definitely recommend having one. Oh gosh I can imagine it feels like it is ages away, but I hope it does come by soon and you get some more answers.

Yeah all I want to do is sleep. I will definitely take the time off I need not rushing back to make myself worse. I’ll get the hubby to get me one. Thank you hopefully goes fast x
