I have had pain so bad I vomit with my periods since 13 years old. I'm 42 now and I get dragging pains for a week over period and a week at ovulation! Family history of endo. Consultant said will do lapro at visit 4 weeks ago but heard nothing. Is this normal on NHS? Worried about if they find nothing.

Yes a wait is usually the way. I'm in an area with a short list and waited 6 weeks. If you're worried contact the consultants secretary they should be able to give you an idea of waiting times. Good luck.

Thank you. I was not sure if waiting time was waiting for the appointment confirmation, or waiting for the actual appointment

I would give the Consultant's secretary a call to ask, the waiting and not knowing can be hard emotionally and I'm sure they'll be able to put your mind at ease. My consultant's secretary and the specialist nurse at the hospital are both lovely, so kind and understanding. Don't be afraid to ask for an idea of when it might be, I'm sure they will help if then can xxx

Very normal I'm afraid! I was referred for a laparoscopy in December and still have no date. I've telephoned the secretary and been told early May at the earliest! It's a nightmare ☹️
