Feeling good
I'm with you on this one... I almost walked out of the hospital on the morning because I was scared they wouldn't find anything and j thought I could just get on with it. But I went ahead with the lap and was diagnosed with endo... Looking back now I'm so so happy I went through with it. It's better to get a definitive answer rather than just wondering what if!...
Good luck with whatever route you decide to take xx
Hi Guys
Wonderful to see this ..My wife is planning for a laproscopy to figure out if it is adenomyosis or endometriosis since all scans show nothing. But she has started having period pains from hell in the last 2 months.
I would encourage you to get it done. I often doubt myself as well before the surgery, esp when I feel good. But the pain always comes back when I contemplate not having a lap. So in the end I just went ahead with it. Any relief you may get is temporary unless you take it out, this is what I have learned...
Thanks Kikishi ..If i may ask -
You were diagnosed with endo or adenomyosis ?
What were your symptoms?
Wishing you a speedy recovery
Hi Lou, I had the same feeling before my first lap and thought maybe it's going away and I don't want to waste their time and have an op for nothing. But I got more pain right before the lap and they did find and remove endo so you need to have the lap to know what's going on inside. The pain comes and goes so you can't judge it on how you feel on one day but how you feel over weeks and months. Good luck! Hope it all works out for you. Nicki
I think somehow psychologically the fear of a surgery overtakes the pain of endo and we end up convincing ourselves that we are ok so that we can avoid the surgery. I was the same myself, I actually cancelled twice only to go back and have the lap anyway. I would suggest you go ahead and have it. If they find nothing, then at least you can start exploring other things for your pain without second guessing if it could be endo. From your posts I see that you have been having quite a lot of pain for several months so I don't think it would just magically disappear. Good luck whatever you decide.
Louoakley I'm the exact same! I have mine booked in for the 16th Aug (had my original date cancelled by the hosp, was supposed to be sooner so now more waiting!) and since I first agreed to have a lap the pain hasn't been as bad as it was previously!
So frustrating, especially since I've suffered with it for about a year now. Dyspareunia has been awful, that's still been really bad, but the pain itself that comes from nowhere hasnt been as bad. I agree with Poorna66 I think its our body's way of tricking us out of getting in surgery!
Hi lovely I was booked in for 23rd Aug but they have cancelled it until September now. I only agreed to have it as the day I went for my app I was feeling that bad loads of pressure feeling below and back pain I just couldn't take it any more, but now I'm feeling great just a little leg pain. I did try to explain to my doctor as in May I went to Italy for 3 weeks and whilst I was there had no pains. Come back wam bam aches again. I also find that I'm always really poorly leading up to the winter too. Just going to monitor my next 2 periods now and see if these pains come back worse at that time xxxx
I felt exactly the same way about my laparoscopy - and then I'd have my period, be in absolute agony and realise that I had to know. I had my lap 10 days ago and they found endo. I'm now so glad I had it.
