New here, endo and treatments qu.

Hi All, I am having a significant reoccurrence in my Endo symptoms after the best part of 12 years being pregnant or breastfeeding. My major symptoms atm are a short 23 day cycle, very heavy bleeding for at least 2 days but not too much pain, but lots of pain during and after sex. However I also have really really bad irritable bowel syndrome which I understand can be related. I have tried several contraceptive pills which have not been helpful and have experienced weight gain and depressed moods as a side effect. My GP is trying to persuade me into getting a Mirena but I really am not wanting to deal with bad side effects again. I am trying to get a gynae referral but the GP is not very keen :(

Would be interested to hear about people's experiences with treatments. I am 40, not wanting more children but birth control is not an issue. I was diagnosed at 17 and have had 3 laparoscopys and hormonal treatments that worked then but the hormones seem to upset me more now I have had children!

I would go back to Gp and tell them you need to be referred to gyne doc, preferable a endo specialist,

GPs are reluctant mostly because of budgeting, but Gp can't deal with endo, and you might need another op, or atleast a look to see what's going on,

Don't give up, go get them girl. Good luck
