Help!! Iv got the implant in last for 3year but its past a little over 3year can i get pregnant

I really need help on this please i have the implant in which last for 3 years but iv found the letter of when it should of been out (a few months ago) could i be pregnant/or get pregnant i have some pregnancy symptoms

I'm not a nurse/doctor but I'd say it's very likely that you could get pregnant if it's a few months past its renewal. My suggestion would be that you take a pregnancy test and if positive then get it taken out asap as I can't imagine it'll be healthy for a baby with the implant still in. If it's negative you should get it removed or renewed. It won't do you you any good either I should think to have that in you past its renewal x

Are you talking about implanon/nexaplon arm implants?

If that is the case then you do need to have a pregnancy test

and then sort out a replacement contraceptive for the years ahead and most importantly - use alternative contraception till the replacement long term contraception gets to work.

It does not run out exactly 3 years after, the time frame given is an approximate but you should contact your GP to sort out what you want to do next.

Besides checking pregnancy, something like mirena coil which has up to 5 years of activity may suit in that it lasts that much longer.

If you are pregnant, an implanon arm implant (which is the one that usually lasts 3 years) should not impact on the pregnancy if it has run out, and you have accidentally found yourself pregnant.

Meantime use condoms or other barrier contraception to avoid pregnancy if you are so far definitely not pregnant, till the new option for contraception is sorted out.
