I'm 25 and just had an ultrasound last week. Endometriosis won't show up on an ultrasound but it will show any other abnormalities or cysts related to endometriosis, called endometriomas. That is probably what they will be looking for. Unfortunately they won't tell you the scan results then and there. They will go back to your gp first x

I am kinda scared, does it take a long time to be treated for endometriosis? And thank you for your help x

It can all depend on the area you live as to how long it takes to get appointments etc. It took me 5 weeks to get an ultrasound scan after being referred, but other places can be quicker. I'm now in the process of waiting for an appointment to discuss laparoscopy surgery (keyhole) which is the only way they can officially diagnose endometriosis. It's a day surgery so you'll be home the same day. I know it all seems scary to begin with. But for some ladies this disease is only an inconvenience and for others it can be debilitating. Every person is different x

I meant to add, that when they do the laparoscopy, they can treat the endometriosis too.

Not what you're looking for?
