Hi Claire, I really hope your not suffering to much!

I had a laparoscopy on the 20th February to diagnose my ongoing severe pain in my abdomen area...

they found endometriosis & a lot of it and treated it with diathermy- and got out the most they could, from my experience I was in a lot of pain for the first 5 days, but take your pain medications around the clock this really really helps and don't do anything but light walking if you can even manage that yet- it also helps the gas from your abdomen to shift quicker releasing the pain in your shoulders

all of a sudden you will begin to feel better it takes time you'll get there- I am now 2 weeks and 1 day since my op and I'm still off work with my stomach very swollen and uncomfortable and cramps but improving slowly.

hopefully by week 4 I will be back to exercising lightly and work after this next week off.

hope you feel better soon sweet.

Lisa

Hi I had hyst and lap back in December and was off work for two weeks, I had no advice from the hospital and was really surprised by how painful the wind in shoulders can be but lots of peppermint tea and painkillers and hot water bottle helped. Unfortunately it has not appeared to have worked for me as even after layering off some endo I am still in lots of pain, doctors useless not helped with anything and still waiting for follow up to scan results in fibroids, but seems not alone when look on here, he just told me after the proceedures as result of fertility tests that oh you have endo and that was it so feel very alone and isolated. Try herbal teas, lots of rest and gentle walks and hopefully in few weeks you will feel less bloated and able to get back to work, take care xx

It took me a good 4 weeks for light activities and 6 weeks to get back to normal, you'll know when your body is ready, don't push yourself, heard people saying a few days and back to normal, i was still in a lot of pain, i guess its how much you have done and how your body heals x
