Hi everyone, I am new to this group and hoping for some of your ideas.. for two days I have woken up with swollen eyes. My dad kindly described my look as having been in the ring with Tyson.
Nothing has changed in my routine or diet. Why has this happened to me? Will it get better? What can I do to reduce the swelling?
The GP has referred me for allergy testing but I need some help to cope now. I have taken a daily anti-histamine but I still look like I have two black eyes.
Has anyone experienced this and if so, can you tell me about your experience please.
Thank you. Catherine.

Have you found out what causes the swelling ? My GP will not send me for allergy testing. My eyes swell up at start of rape season, but more recently they swell at other times with no indication as to the cause. I have recently had an operation to correct a droopy tear duct and the antibiotic drops caused my eyes to swell. The surgeon changed the drops which helped for a couple of days, but then these too caused a further reaction. We have Silver Birch trees near our house and I have been told they could cause allergic reactions.
Same here, it is driving me crazy and my GP has offered no support. I thought it was a paint allergy from doing up my house but I have not been near paint for a month and it's still just as bad. I have tried going make-up free but still no change. It is so painful and I wake up every morning with blurred vision. Don't know where else to turn for help because my GP did not want to know.
