When I had my son I ate a lot of strawberries and he started to gety a rags but the specialist told me to continue eating them and he would never be allergic to them. I did and within a week he was clear of any rash and they never bothered him. It wouldn't have made a lot of difference as I only had milk for 2 weeks but the question arose.

Alex absolutely suffered from this. We were really shocked to be honest, even though he was exclusively breast fed, when he started to show signs of a reaction to the food my wife was eating. These foods have subsequently gone on to be his main allergens, so we know this wasn't random. As a baby, this then had an 'echo' of making his eczema even worse, so much so that my wife took all dairy out of her diet until Alex was weaned. Even so I would be careful taking anything out of your diet (for your own health too) until you are sure of a connection.

thanks a lot , me and my baby is not alone? alex is how old now?

Alex is almost 13 now. It's a long journey with allergies, but there's lots of moments of joy in there - the little victories count a lot more when you find something cool that he can eat, and he's never going to be fat! :)

Both of my children had allergies. My first didn't get diagnosed until 14months because he was mostly breasted but 'topped up' with formula. His symptoms included massive nappy floods and constant screaming in pain. For our second we recognised the symptoms even though we hadn't introduced dairy. I cut out dairy and it sorted it out. We also found beans were a trigger too. She used to vomit if I had dairy. As it goes I have felt much better since not eating dairy too, so maybe I too have intolerance and have never realised.
