Sorry, I can't help as I have not found the best chair. For me personally the sofa is best, supported with lots of cushions as I can't sit in the same position for long. Anywhere what's big enough to shift about is good, also I love having my feet up so always use a large footstool or have my feet on the sofa . I hope you find a comfortable place to sit soon. Let us know how your chair hunt is going! Take care 😊

i think a sofa would be better for me as well as i move about alot and also want to lie down sometimes

I have a human touch perfect chair. Was really expensive but perfect for me. I've adapted it with extra bits of foam hidden behind the leather to shorten the seat depth and add more lumbar support but can sit in it for hours without pain now.

Hi,

I bought a sunlounger a few years ago and by chance it's the most comfortable thing I can be in. It's a Zero Gravity recliner, cost about £30 from Argos and at a particular angle it makes you feel totally supported and almost weightless. You can buy proper ones for your lounge but they are really expensive so maybe try a cheap outdoor one first, or perhaps a friend has one you could try before you buy.

Like you say it's so difficult to find anything that's comfy and I find that staying in any one position for very long soon becomes painful so I end up playing "musical chairs." I hope you find some relief soon.

Best wishes

Just bought a new chair - a recliner, which means I can recline back far enough so there is minimal weight resting on any part of me. I used to sit on a small sofa, sitting on my hip/upper leg with my legs bent and to the side. I cannot stand to sit on my tailbone at all - super painful after about 10 mins. I do think recliners are great for us.

You thought of getting occupational therapy in to assess the height of your sofa or chair? I've got them coming in next week and hoping to get some chair raisers for my sofa.

My DH swears by his Poang from Ikea, ikea.com/gb/en/products/sof..., with the footstool. I often find him asleep, I think he gets more sleep during the day sitting in it than he gets at night laying down in bed. Plus I find it supports my back really well and eases my backache when I have been gardening. If you are not too far from an Ikea store they have a few variations that you can try out, even one that rocks.
