intermittent dull back ache

Hi just wondered if anyone with ckd 3b has an intermittent dull lower back ache and dull ache in right low back. I am due to see consultant soon and wondered if I should mention it. I do know I only have one kidney working. I don't have the pain all the time.

It is possible you have an infection in your kidney, I normally get this type of pain when I have one. A urine sample test will not always show an infection as it is too high up. Do you have less energy? Or not wanting to eat?

I would mention this when you see your consultant if it is a new symptom.

thanks for your reply. I battle with constant fatigue and lactic acid pain in my muscles but have never thought this could be due to my kidneys?

I do get back pain but have both kidneys ticking over though (my GFR is 32&have IGAN), often thought this was down to fluid retention/blood pressure medication they have me on...I would think that you should mention this to your consultant when you next see them...so they can help you.
