I intermit fast and have for the last five years. Did it help my kidneys?? Maybe, but I was doing it more for weight loss, which it did help. Now I am so used to it I can't eat any other way. We stop eating no later than 5pm and I do not eat again until 11am. It is important to drink water in the morning so make sure you get hydrated. That helps the kidneys. On the mornings I have aerobics class, I eat something before 9:30 just to keep my sugar levels good during exercise. There are no rules, just do what works for you,

Thank you yes I agree I think its the weight loss that helps .trouble is you read one thing that contradicts another it's a mine field and what works for one doesn't for another .

Absolutely!! I’ve been doing intermittent fasting for three months and saw a great increase in my eGFR and decrease in creatinine. I had not had as high eGFR as I do now than I’ve had in many years. (My eGFR went from 54 to 88 in three months!) IF has so many health benefits besides the kidneys. I’ve had several health issues that have improved since starting IF (time restricted eating) but it took about three months to see good results. I fast 17 hours and eat 7 hours. My body has gotten so used to this pattern that I no longer feel hungry much anymore and have to make sure I eat so as not to lose too much weight and maintain nutrition. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done for my body and health

That's brilliant may I ask do you also have type 2 diabetes . If you do I guess your readings are much better.

no, not diabetes. But my morning fasting blood sugar levels have decreased significantly.
