with stage 3 kidney and conflicting up and down numbers I know I have to stay hydrated. I take a blood pressure pill with. A diuretic because my ankles swell. So it takes off a little water. My question is how much should I be drinking. I’ve been told u can drink too much.

This is a question for the doctor. Too much water or too little... is dependent on each individual. But since you are having edema, then the doctor should be monitoring it.

A video I watched on a CKD channel (that seems to give sound advice) said: divide your weight in half, and that’s the number of ounces of water you need daily. So if you’re 150 lbs, then 75 oz. Seems reasonable to me.
